On September 29th, 2023, my friends insisted I join them to go to an Eric Church concert. My best friend, Sam, informed me we were meeting at some guy's house, Justin, with whom she had a mutual friend. In the pouring rain, my friends ran around looking for his apartment. I watched from the sidewalk when this tall, handsome man walked out. I asked if he was Justin. He immediately gave me butterflies. Fast forward 30 minutes at the concert. Justin tells everyone he knows how to swing dance. Our friend, Caleb, pushed me to him and said, "Show us." I argued and said no; I didn't know him. But when he put out his hand, I couldn't resist. He pulled me in, flipped me over his shoulder, and dipped me. I was hooked. (Picture credit: Kari) The next morning, I thanked him for the pretzel he had bought me at the concert, and we never stopped talking. Within two weeks, I was officially his girlfriend.

Fast forward to June 8th, 2024. We were on vacation in Montana. Our last stop was spending the weekend with our friends, Joey, Sammy, and the girls. Justin and Joey had been acting weird all day, and Justin kept disappearing. I decided not to do my hair that day, wore workout clothes, and cut down all my nails. Perfect! Later, Justin took Kara into the house to get candy, and he told her he loved us and would like to marry her mom. She was incredibly happy. He put the ring in her pocket. When they came outside, Justin grabbed my hand and pulled me to an open space. He got down on one knee and said, "I love you, and I want to spend forever with you and Kara." Kara walked up next to him and pulled the ring out of her pocket. I said yes! I am beyond excited to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and the love of my life.
